It was gonna be a great day at Daytona once te grean flag dropped. Very un eventful for the first 100 or so laps only cautions out becasue of debry has we saw Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin dominate the race. First wreck was when David Ragan got into the wall with his teamate Matt Kenseth. More cautions followed. Defending series champion Jimmie Johnson got losse and wreck collecting Martin Truex Jr. Denny Hamlin and Michael Waltrip were involed. Clint Bowyer got turned around when Montoya had a run. Then our biggest wreck of the day when Defending racewinner Kevin Harvick turns Dave Blaney into all getting Paul Menard , JJ Yeley , Mark Martin and Denny Hamlin. Last Caution was brought when Casey Mears misjudged himself trying to block Tony Stewart and slamed the wall. 3 lap shootout Tony Stewart took the lead from Jeff Burton with help from Ryan Newman and Kurt Busch. Last lap Tony see Kyle Busch down low goes down to ensure his teamte helps him but Newman gets a push from the older of the Busch brothers and goes on to win the Daytona 500. "Id like to thank everyone who gave me a chance in quartar midgets , sprints , everything." Said Newman. Kurt Busch finshed 2nd so not only is this Penske's points plate's race win but first ever 1-2 in a cup race. Tony got 3rd teamate Kyle 4th , Reed Sorenson impressive 5th. Elliott Sadler who finsihed 2nd in the 2002 Daytona 500 6th Kasey 7th , Robby Gordon was 8th , thanks to worn out tires Jr was 9th and Greg Biffle rounds out your top 10. Whats jumps at me is that everyone said dodge was doing so bad durig speedweeks. I see 6 dodges in the top 10. On a scale of one to ten I give this race a 7 did really well at the end keeping the fans on their feet and made me want to be out there. Misan out.
