Today i sat down with the lovely Megan Reitenour
Q.So Megan when did you start racing?
A.when i was 5
Q.what did you race
A.quarter midgetsactingracing
Q. Well Megan your giving short and sweet anwsers haha howd you get into racing by yourself or through family


A. well my dad raced when he was little and his dad raced so i am the 3 generation of racers in my family.

Q.so its from father to father to daugther?
A. yes
Q.There haven;t been any successful women drivers in nascar can you be the first
A..i believe alot of doors have been opened for women drivers but there is still many doors to be opened but i think it is very possible with the right opportunity
Q. are Female and Male drivers any differant?
A. no i really dont believe there is a difference. you know when we put our helmets on you can not tell if its a boy or girl. we are drivers. so i dont believe there is any differenceactingracing
Q. Richard Petty feels that girls should be in a differant series your thoughts
A.everyone is intitled to their own opinion. but i dont think you should make that judgement on every girl that races inless you have seen them race.
Q. Danica Patrick is making a name for herself in irl when will she come to nascar
A.i'm not sure. she seems to be doing great in irl. i would like to see her run in nascar.
Q.she actaully was given a chnace to test an evernham car speaking of cup teams have you made contact with one
A. right now i am focusing on trying to get sponcers to run the arca truck races so i can get experence in heavier vehical.
Q. how is the truck going
A. we have had a bit of trouble keeping it together for the whole race. but we are learning alot and hoping to get it fixed by aug. so we can race again.
Q. what are your expectation for the rest of season
A. we are only going to run 6 truck races this year to keep my rookie status for next year and we are going to finsh runing the legend the rest of the season and sell it over the winter break
Q. what is your 5 year goal
A. i want to get as much experience as i can in every series to competitive and to eventually secure a position in arca cars busch then nascar or indy
Q. whats you 10 year plans
A. to competitivly be racing in either nascar or indy and being a rolemodel for other female drivers
Q. whats your wildest carsh
A. this year actually. i flipped in the legend.
Q. Oh howd you go over
A. we were having a pretty bad race and i was runing towards the back and there was a new driver in front of me and the white flag was out we were going into turn 1 and he slammed on the brakes and i didnt want to hit him so i went to his outside and he never turned and my left rear wheel hopped his right front. sending me flipping 5 time and finally landed upside down. it took them 10 mins to get me out.
Q. I've gone over in a gokart must have felt like forever
A. yeah i lost feeling in my legs and my back was in pain. it felt like it took them an hour to get me out.actingracing
Q. would you have rather hit the wall instead
A. no the car needed a new body on it anyways so i would rather of flipped
Q. What tracks have you;ve raced at
A. i have been racing for 11 years all over the us. so alot of tracks
